Job summary

Cargill in North Kingstown, RI is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support safe and reliable plant operations by maintaining and repairing production equipment and facility assets.

You will perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues under general guidance, and work in a cold or warm production setting with required PPE. The role offers 2nd shift 3:00PM-11:30PM and opportunities to grow maintenance skills while contributing to food safety.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Six months of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience or educational equivalent or certification in maintenance, mechanics, or related trade.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety, food safety, and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance on production and facility equipment, including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and basic precision tools to complete maintenance tasks.
• Read and follow work instructions, schematics, manuals, and safety procedures.
• Document completed work and equipment conditions using a computerized maintenance system.
• Perform job duties in a fast paced, cold, or warm production setting with required PPE while engaging in physical tasks such as standing for long periods, climbing, bending, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as requested.
• Support food safety, housekeeping, and safety standards across the facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
