Job description

Our school motto is "Changing lives for the better, one weld at a time."

The Illinois Welding School has a 2nd Shift Welding Instructor position available for hire.

We need you to be able to weld processes such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW on plate and pipe. Candidates can present recent certifications or be tested at our facility for 3G/4G plate and 6G pipe. Applicants should have several years of experience in the welding industry. Our Diploma Programs provide students with entry-level skills, knowledge, and potential certification to gain employment in welding trades, with a curriculum comprising 70% hands-on training and 30% classroom instruction.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide quality instruction for students aged 18 and over.
  2. Teach a full range of classes in SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, GMAW on plate and pipe in all positions.
  3. Maintain a clean, well-organized welding shop.
  4. Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, welding symbols, and pipefitting materials.
Necessary Skills:
  1. Ability and skill to weld pipe and plate in all positions.
  2. A passion for empowering students with welding knowledge.
  3. Deep understanding of welding and cutting processes.
  4. Ability to read, understand, and utilize Welding Procedure Specification sheets.
  5. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  6. People development and instructional abilities.
  7. Problem-solving and multi-tasking skills suitable for a fast-paced environment.
  8. Motivated, professional, and positive attitude.
  9. Physical ability to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn, and reason throughout the workday.
  10. Leadership skills and the ability to inspire students.
