Job summary

Gilmore Furniture, a hand-crafted contract furniture company in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is seeking a skilled Panel Saw Operator for a new 2nd shift. Training on the 1st shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm) is available. The role requires cutting wood panels to specification while meeting safety standards and schedules.

You will read shop drawings, set up the panel saw, measure parts, and ensure quality. Regular attendance and teamwork are essential in our wood manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience operating panel saws or similar woodworking machinery.
• Knowledge of woodworking materials, grain direction, and cutting techniques.
• Ability to read tape measures, calipers and technical drawings accurately.

Responsibilities

• Operate panel saw to cut plywood, MDF, particleboard, and solid wood panels per drawings.
• Load material, set up machine, and adjust fences and alignment.
• Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and quality.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and follow safety procedures.
• Communicate production issues to team leader and work collaboratively to meet goals.
