Job summary

WAI Distribution Center is seeking an Order Picker to join our outbound operations team. You will pick, verify, pack, manage the queue, and ship orders to meet customer specifications, with proficiency in forklift operation essential for daily tasks.

Responsibilities include reading pick lists and SOPs, using RF devices, ensuring accurate labeling, and maintaining safety standards. We value dependable teamwork and adherence to 5S principles.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be able to operate an Order Picker PIT Equipment (Reach Truck, Order Picker, Electric Pallet Jacks, etc.)
• Preferred: High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification; 2 years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, reach truck, etc.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper packing and labeling of items
• Safely and promptly load items onto material handling equipment
• Read and interpret stage plans, pick lists, and SOPs or WI
• Operate material handling equipment including RF devices, label machines, scales, and powered equipment such as forklifts, pickers, or pallet jacks
• Use RF devices to pick and transfer materials to staging areas
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure correct part number and quantity
• Ensure accuracy of Pallet Manifest documentation
• Inspect material handling equipment, structures, or materials for problems or defects
• Mark and/or tag containers with identifying information
• Assist in researching root causes of shipping load discrepancies
• Participate in a collaborative work environment with cross-training
• Comply with safety protocols and participate in ongoing training to ensure a secure environment
• Follow 5S principles daily to optimize workflow and cleanliness
• Undertakes additional responsibilities as directed by management
