Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse-RN to provide focused nursing care for occupational illness and injuries at a poultry complex. The role handles OSHA and workers' compensation recordkeeping, post-offer drug screens, and medical history reviews.

The RN will lead safety initiatives, manage wellness programs, and collaborate with health managers. Must hold an active RN license and have at least 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in occupational health.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years' nursing experience; occupational health experience preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of OSHA standards and recordkeeping requirements.
• Highly effective written/verbal and interpersonal communication skills; multi-lingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review post offer medical history with the employee and make referrals per protocol.
• Administer drug and alcohol testing per company policies including post offer screens.
• Provide first aid, nursing or emergency care consistent with RN scope and guidelines; consult with health managers as needed.
• Assist with medical cost management through early identification, treatment and follow-up nursing care.
• Coordinate with workers' compensation adjuster and case managers to resolve claims promptly.
• Maintain electronic medical records for injury, OSHA, and workers' comp documentation.
• Serve on Safety/Ergonomics committee and lead safety initiatives.
• Develop wellness programs aligned with company goals.
• Lead ergonomics initiatives and manage the Ergonomics Job Measurement System.
• Manage respiratory protection, first responder and bloodborne pathogen programs.
• Conduct new hire orientation related to safety/medical.
• Advise and educate employees on preventative health and wellness.
