Job summary

Bell Lumber & Pole Company is seeking a Mobile Equipment Operator for the 2nd shift in Gibsland, LA. You will safely handle raw materials and finished products in an outdoor yard environment, operating log loaders, front-end loaders, and forklifts.

We require a high school diploma or equivalent and experience with heavy equipment. You will read manuals, follow safety procedures, perform routine maintenance, and communicate effectively with teammates to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment, including log loaders and front-end loaders.
• Ability to read schematics and manuals.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to withstand physical demands of heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile equipment such as Log Loaders and Front-End Loaders.
• Operate and maintain Log Loaders, Front end loaders, and Forklifts.
• Understand written documents for handling customers' products.
• Understand basic safe use of shop tools.
• Maintain communication with co-workers concerning operational needs.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform startup/shutdown.
• Perform annual and other scheduled maintenance on equipment.
• Follow OSHA safety rules and Bell Timber safety standards.
• Identify unsafe conditions and report them.
• Read and understand startup, operation and maintenance procedures.
• Work in accordance with company standards.
