Job summary

Covia in Tamms, IL is seeking a dynamic 2ndShift Mill Operator to support the main operations team. The role involves operating and monitoring the #3 ball mill system, dust collectors, and associated equipment; logging data and ensuring product quality to specifications.

You will work on site in a safety‑driven environment, performing tests, loading materials, and maintaining accurate documentation as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience contributing within a team of professionals to deliver against set targets.
• Commitment to safety with previous experience in identifying and managing risks.
• Prior exposure to and understanding of operational equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operation and monitoring of equipment in the plant, including ball mill systems and dust collectors.
• Record keeping of process parameters, product grade, and log entries as required.
• Monitor pressure gauges, temperatures, and airflow; climb ladders and stairs to access equipment.
• Operate and monitor baggers for finished product and ensure accurate bag weights.
• Inspection, fueling and operation of forklift; loading grinding media into the mill feed system.
