Where You Will Work

Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM) is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments.

Job Summary:

Under close supervision of the lead, Investigates and conducts experiments concerned with physical characteristics, properties, and processing of metal fasteners.

Essential Functions


  • Conducts microscopic and macro analysis of parts and raw material and interpret and report results.
  • Must be able to read and interpret all specifications and blueprints for metallurgical requirements.
  • Must be able to perform all qualification tests and reports on Engineering Projects.
  • Review raw material purchase orders and checks new parts for fixtures and bolts. Sets up and operates tensile, stress rupture and fatigue machines and accurately records and reports results.
  • Consults with engineers and performs qualification testing on engineering projects
  • Performs government source testing. Must have a good understanding of metallurgy and heat treating.
  • Willing to learn and conduct other MTL related tests.


Willing to learn and cross train in other quality areas if necessary.

Tasks


  • Communicates job status, relevant information to coworkers as well as informing operators on the floor of defective product while performing inspection on the shop floor
  • Completes assigned tasks, functions and special projects in a timely manner
  • Read and understand written work instructions
  • Keeps work area organized and clean at all times.
  • Observes all safety regulations in all duties.
  • Performs other duties as required


Physical Requirements


  • Visual acuity for detailed work
  • Must Be able to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist and waist to floor occasionally
  • Must be able to stand throughout the entire shift.
  • Must be able to work in an un-air conditioned, well ventilated and/or air conditioned shop environment.


Qualifications
Associates’ degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Must know basic computer skills.
  • Must be very detail and data oriented


Compensation:

$20/hr.-$28/hr.
