Job summary

IFA North America LLC in Summerville, SC seeks a Mechatronics Repair Technician on 2nd shift to diagnose, repair and maintain complex production machinery. You will work with Siemens PLC/CNC systems, read schematics, and coordinate with German colleagues to implement PM plans.

The ideal candidate has journeyman qualification or AS Mechatronics, PLC experience, and strong problem-solving skills in hydraulics, pneumatics and welding processes; German language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

Licensed journeyman machine repairman or AS Mechatronics.
Experience diagnosing PLC and CNC Siemens-controlled machinery.
Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
Familiar with local machinery codes and standards.
Strong math, geometry and trigonometry basics.
Good communication skills (verbal and written).
Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Complete repairs on mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems/components.
Diagnose and correct problems with PLC & CNC (Siemens) controlled machinery.
Maintain and repair a variety of production processes including welding, balancing and assembly machines.
Coordinate with machine builders and colleagues from Germany.
Interpret and understand machine drawings and schematics.
Assist in development of PM plans and spare parts inventories.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance tasks and follow safety procedures (LOTO).
Use measurement equipment in job duties.
Travel as required and read/understand ISO 14001, IATF16949 commitments.
