Job summary

Eaton Corporation's Power Components Division in Horseheads, NY is seeking a 3rd shift Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This role is based at our Horseheads, NY facility with shift hours 11PM-7AM (Sun-Thu).

Training on 1st shift is required for ~4 weeks. The primary function is to assemble, install, maintain and repair electrical production/factory equipment, with options for day, night, or weekend work for training and overtime.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or approved Apprenticeship program certificate in Maintenance/Mechanic specialty.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ industrial mechanic trade experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, maintain and repair electrical production/factory equipment.
• Read and interpret maintenance specifications, blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Fabricate parts and equipment using all maintenance tools and machine tools.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical failures (hydraulic, pneumatic, alignments, drive systems, etc.).
• Use diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and repair equipment per specs.
• Prep and paint surfaces and maintain records.
• Perform tasks from other trades to keep equipment operational.

Eaton's EPG CPD PCD Power Components Division division is currently seeking a 2nd Shift Mechanic.

The hourly rate for this position is $23.48-$38.87 per hour.

What you’ll do:

Eaton’s Power Components division is currently seeking a 3rd shift Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This position is based at our Horseheads, NY facility. Shift Hours: 11PM-7AM (Schedule: Sunday-Thursday) Training: Candidates must be available to train on 1st shift (7am-3pm) for roughly 4 + weeks

This role pays up to $32.55 (rate will be determined based on experience level)

The Mechanic’s primary function is to assemble, install, maintain and repair electrical production/factory equipment.

• Read and interpret maintenance specifications, blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Fabricate parts and equipment using all maintenance tools including by setup and operation of machine tools using close tolerances (± 0.005). Inspect and maintain all maintenance tools and equipment.
• Analyze any/all types of equipment mechanical failures (hydraulic, pneumatic, alignments, drive systems, indexing and moving parts, turrets, pumps, conveyors, hydrogen atmosphere furnaces, etc.).
• Use computerized diagnostic equipment and expertise to troubleshoot and diagnose failures and make repairs/rebuild of equipment per appropriate specifications. Check equipment up on completion of work to ensure proper operation.
• Prep and paint all types of surfaces.
• Maintain company records as required.
• Perform tasks from other mechanical trades (welding, sheet metal, millwright, plumbing) on an as needed basis in order to keep productions and factory equipment operational.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Must have a two-year technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or approved Apprenticeship program certificate in Maintenance/Mechanic specialty or 10 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ industrial mechanic trade experience.
• Must have legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within 50-mile radius of Horseheads, NY will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years prior experience troubleshooting CNC machines
• Knowledge of vacuum furnace technology
• Proven troubleshooting skills
