Job summary

Pro Resources Staffing Services seeks a dedicated 2nd Shift Materials Handler to safely move, organize, and prepare materials across the plant using forklifts and clamp trucks. You will help keep production running by ensuring materials are available when needed and assisting with loading, unloading, and shipping.

The role requires attention to detail, safety around powered equipment, and the ability to lift 50 pounds or more.

Qualifications

• Must have strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime, including before/after shifts and weekends.
• Organized and able to read and follow instructions.
• Strong safety awareness because of working around powered industrial equipment.
• Forklift and clamp-truck certification/experience.
• Good communication skills.
• Warehouse experience: 1 year preferred.
• Material-handling experience: 1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move master rolls, in-process rolls, and finished goods throughout the plant using a clamp truck.
• Stage rolls on pallets as needed.
• Use production schedules or shipping orders to transport materials and equipment to designated areas.
• Identify and verify raw materials, work-in-process materials, finished products, equipment, and processing materials.
• Cross-reference materials with production or shipping schedules and report discrepancies to a supervisor.
• Ensure materials are delivered promptly so production equipment does not shut down because of material shortages.
• Open loads using snips, remove and safely dispose of strapping/wrapping, and secure loads with protective materials and manual or automatic strapping equipment.
• Remove empty skids and stack them in designated areas.
• Service material-handling trucks, including changing propane tanks or batteries and checking/changing oil and water; report mechanical or electrical problems.
• Operate fork trucks and assist in various production areas.

Hours : 2 :00PM-10 :00PM (must report 15 minutes prior and remain 15 minutes after shift for changeover)Pay Rate: $18.82 per hour

Position Description

The Material Handler is responsible for safely moving, organizing, and preparing materials throughout the manufacturing facility. This position uses forklifts and clamp trucks to transport raw materials, work-in-process materials, and finished products. The Material Handler helps keep production running smoothly by making sure materials are available when needed and assists with loading, unloading, and shipping activities. The position requires attention to detail, good communication, safe equipment operation, and the ability to lift and move heavy materials.
