Job summary

Lexington Manufacturing, LLC is seeking a 2nd Shift Material Handler to support Brainerd operations. The role focuses on safe forklift movement, accurate material staging, and timely replenishment to production lines.

The pay range for this role is $22 to $26 depending on experience and qualifications.

About the role:

The Material Handler I plays a key role in supporting efficient material flow throughout the facility by safely transporting, staging, and tracking materials to meet production and shipping needs.

This role requires a high level of reliability, attention to detail, and accountability. The right person in this seat consistently supports workflow by ensuring accurate material movement, maintaining system integrity, and contributing to a safe and organized work environment. They understand how their work directly impacts production flow, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery.

  • Safely and efficiently operate forklifts in accordance with company standards and certification requirements
  • Own the timely movement of materials to and from production areas to support workflow and production needs
  • Accurately load and unload trucks while ensuring proper handling and staging of materials
  • Identify and locate materials quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime and support operational flow
  • Complete daily forklift inspections and report any issues promptly
  • Inventory Accuracy & Systems
  • Take accountability for accurate ERP transactions related to material movement and inventory updates
  • Ensure alignment between physical materials and system records at all times
  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts and material verification processes
  • Identify discrepancies and identify or support resolution as appropriate
  • Quality & Standard Work
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards consistently
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail to ensure work meets established quality expectations
  • Understand and apply job instructions, control plans, and internal processes
  • Understand how accurate and timely material movement directly impacts production flow and customer delivery.
  • Take initiative to improve understanding of processes and increase effectiveness in the role

  • Follow all PPE requirements and safe material handling practices at all times
  • Participate in required safety training and reinforce safe behaviors in daily work
  • Safely handle, transport, and store materials, including hazardous substances when required
  • Maintain a safe work environment and promptly report hazards

  • Demonstrate reliability through consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Be available and dependable when scheduled for overtime or additional support
  • Work collaboratively with production, shipping, and warehouse teams to support overall operations
  • Step in to support team needs and maintain workflow continuity
  • Cross-trains in additional material handling or warehouse functions to support operational flexibility
  • Productivity & Continuous Improvement
  • Complete assigned work within expected timeframes while maintaining accuracy and safety
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of equipment, processes, and material flow
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in processes, efficiency, and organization
  • Provide feedback and contribute ideas to support continuous improvement efforts

Job Requirements:

Education High school or equivalent

Experience and/or Training: Material Handling experience is required. Manufacturing knowledge and basic computer literacy skills are preferred. Communicates well, both written and verbal. Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and technical specifications.

Technology/Equipment: Basic computer literacy skills are required.

  • Physical requirements: Sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. Ability to climb in and out of the forklift frequently throughout the shift. Lifting various weights throughout the shift. Bending as required.

Working Environment: Varying temperatures. Loud environments. Paint/chemical smells.
