Job summary

Nucor Warehouse Systems in Los Angeles is seeking a careful sit-down forklift operator to move racks, bundles, and material around our facilities. The forklift operator will operate a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety.

The job could involve driving around warehouses, storage spaces and other facilities. The forklift operator must be a responsible individual with great experience in driving industrial vehicles, specifically, a sit-down forklift.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as sit-down forklift operator.
• Valid certification to operate forklifts; company will certify as needed.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must work any shift, overtime, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Locate, pull, and bring orders using a sit-down forklift.
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies.
• Transport raw materials to production workstations.
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs.
• Comply with company policies and safety guidelines.
• Help maintain a safe and orderly facility environment.

The forklift operator will operate a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. The job could involve driving around warehouses, storage spaces and other facilities. The forklift operator must be a responsible individual with great experience in driving industrial vehicles, specifically, a sit-down forklift. The goal will be to ensure that material and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

Basic Job Functions:

• Locate, pull, and bring orders using a sit-down forklift
• Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
• Transport raw materials to production workstations
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs; keep track of inventory
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a sit-down forklift operator
• Valid certification to operate forklifts required; we will also certify through company
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work any shift as required, overtime, weekends and holidays; must be able to work a modifiable schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working for a manufacturing company
• Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
• Basic math skills to keep track of inventory
