Job summary

Metals USA has an immediate opening for a Material Handler - 2nd Shift in Tulsa, OK. The role loads metal materials using an overhead crane, moves inventory, and stocks inventory locations while ensuring accurate paperwork and safety protocols.

Responsibilities include operating a yard truck, cranes, and forklift, plus receiving, tagging, and restocking materials. Insurance benefits and a productive bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Six months minimum experience in material handling or related roles.

Responsibilities

• Load metal materials into a truck using an overhead crane in Tulsa facility.
• Receive, place and return items into stock locations; tag materials for identification.
• Pull and assemble customer orders in order of delivery.
• Operate yard truck for loading/unloading trailers; operate cranes to move stock.
• Operate forklift (5k or 10k) to load/unload trailers; complete work orders and restock material.

Job description

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Reading and writing ability in English (to read instructions, tickets, safety and policies manuals)
• Measuring skills to read and convert English and Metric systems
• Arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions
• Minimum experience of six (6) months experience as Material Handler, Warehouse Helper, Truck Loader or Construction
• Prefer experience of six (6) months operating an overhead crane
• Must be able to pass forklift certification by Metals USA on 5k and 10k forklifts
• Candidate must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Physical Requirements:

In a typical workday, employee is standing, walking, seeing, hearing, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, shoving, lifting, driving (yard truck or forklift), climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking. Must be capable of lifting wt. up to forty (40) lbs. with or without lifting devices.

Working Conditions:

Employee will work in an open warehouse the majority (98%) of the time and will be exposed to some or all of the following working conditions: extreme heat and cold, noise, vibration, oils and atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes and metallic particles. Employee will be exposed to the hazards of working with heavy machinery. Employee is required to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves and safety boots. The Company furnishes initial hard hat, gloves and safety glasses. The employee furnishes safety boots at own expense.

Metals USAhas an immediate opening for a Material Handler -2nd Shiftto load metal materials into a truck using an overhead crane in our Tulsa, OK facility. TheMaterial Handler, under limited supervision, performs duties related to the storage and movement of inventory or equipment; reports to lead material handler or group leader.

• Receives and places/returns items into stock inventory locations
• Tags material for proper identification
• Pulls and assembles customer orders in order of delivery
• Operates yard truck for the purpose of loading and unloading trailers
• Operates cranes to put up stock in bins or load/unload trailers
• Operates forklift (5k or 10k) to load/unload trailers
• Completes work order paperwork/documentation
• Restocks material
