2nd Shift Material Handler - Booneville, MS

Join our team where your dedication and passion will be appreciated. Since our start in 1952, Marathon Cheese has been a leader in the Cheese Packaging Industry. Our Booneville Plant opened in 1962 and has been steadily growing in the community.

We are currently seeking Material Handlers for Second Shift. Starting pay rate is $19.30 per hour, with an additional $1.00 per hour shift differential for 2nd Shift. We offer excellent and affordable benefits.

Material Handler Duties

• Opening product, feeding cheese onto cutting equipment, and adjusting the equipment as needed.
• Ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF standards, and safety rules.
• Moving pallets, performing basic cleanup, sweeping, and assisting other positions.
• Packing cheese into boxes, stacking on pallets, and inspecting packages for seals and code dates.
• Operating box erecting, case sealing, and labeling equipment.
• Sanitizing work areas and equipment as required.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math in English.
• Ability to accept constructive criticism and work well in a team.
• Maintain a professional image with customers, peers, and supervisors.
• Good organizational and communication skills.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; education beyond high school is a plus. Forklift experience, manufacturing, or packaging experience are desirable.

Working Conditions

Work inside a clean manufacturing environment. Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally.

Core Hours

• 1st Shift: Monday to Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Saturday, 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• 2nd Shift: Monday to Friday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
• 3rd Shift: Monday to Friday, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.; Saturday, 6 p.m. to 12 a.m., or until sanitation is complete. Note: 3rd shift starts Monday night.

Saturday hours depend on production and staffing needs.
