Job summary

Hamilton-Ryker in Berea, KY is seeking a Material Handler for 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 3:30pm–2:00am) with overtime on Fri/Sat. You will support production flows, receive and inspect shipments, and prepare orders for shipment.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least 6 months recent forklift or rack loader experience, and basic computer and math skills. Steel-toed shoes are required, and the candidate must be able to work either shift.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass client’s substance abuse and background check.
• Highschool Diploma or Equivalent.
• Steady work history in the last 5 years.
• Minimum of six months’ recent forklift or rack loader experience.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Steel-toed shoes/boots required.
• Must be able to work either shift.

Responsibilities

• Supply work areas with scheduled production and maintain flow of work.
• Receive and examine cartons, boxes, crates, and packages for accuracy per bill of lading.
• Prepare finished products for shipments and arrange for shipments.
• Maintain aisles and storage areas and remove waste and recyclables.
• Daily pre- and post-shift inspection of vehicles used for the job.
• Promote a safe work environment through PPE use and safe equipment operation.
• Perform routine cleaning of spray equipment and general housekeeping.
• Maintain adherence to quality standards.
• Support and enforce company policies including safety, housekeeping, environment, and discipline.
• Maintain attendance with reliable time management.
• Be willing to participate in training for development of skills.

Job Title: Material Handler

Location: Berea KY

Shift: 2nd Shift, Monday - Thursday, 3:30pm - 2:00am (10-hour shifts)
Overtime Mandatory: Friday and/or Saturday 1:00pm – 9:00pm

Payrate: $17.65

What you will be doing

• Supply work areas with scheduled production and maintain flow of work throughout the plant areas
• Receive and examine open cartons, boxes, crates, and packages for correctness based off of the bill of lading
• Prepare finished products for shipments and arrange for shipments to be made
• Maintain aisles, storage areas, and remove dunnage, trash, and recyclable materials
• Daily pre and post shift inspection of vehicles used to perform job
• Promote a safe work environment through safe behavior, safe operation of equipment and proper use of (PPE)
• Perform routine cleaning of spray equipment and general housekeeping
• Maintain adherence to quality standards
• Support and help enforce all company policies; including safety, housekeeping, environmental, financial, reporting, and discipline
• Must be able to manage time in such a way as to maintain an acceptable level of attendance.
• Exhibit willingness to participate in training deemed necessary by management to assist in the development of basic and technical skills
