Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safety of yourself, your co-workers, and the environment.
• Identify and report safety concerns through near misses and observations.
• Always strive for zero waste, zero litter, and involvement in the recycling program.
• Responsible for the quality of all processes and products that you encounter.
• Be knowledgeable and fulfill all customer requirements.
• Identify and report all quality concerns to supervisors or quality technicians.
• Be actively engaged in safety and quality programs.
• Maintain a clean working area in all Material Handler areas.
• Assist in breaking down empty gaylords and maintaining the baler.

Other Duties

• Perform other functions as necessary or as assigned.
• Assist in maintaining silos and cleaning.
• Report damages and unsafe conditions.
• Assist other Material Handlers as needed or directed by Warehouse Manager.

Qualifications

• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers.
• Moderate organizational skills including the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to read Standard English text for requirements on packlist.
• Effective communication with persons of various backgrounds.
• Perform effectively in environments with frequent workload changes and competing demands.
• Use simple math for material calculations.
• Make appropriate job decisions following standard policies and precedents.
• Verbal communication skills adequate for radio or paging systems.
• Recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately.
• Stand and walk for a minimum of 7 hours during an 8-hour shift.
• Hearing sufficient to recognize warnings, alarms, and horns on forklifts.
• Proficient in JDE software.
• Lift, push, and pull loads of no more than 35 lbs. frequently without assistance.
• Operate a forklift safely in high traffic, low clearance areas.
• Climb ladders and steps safely without assistance.
