Position Summary

We are seeking a diligent Production Operator to join our team. This role involves maintaining the operation of Cooker and Extruder machines, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and compliance with OSHA standards, quality standards, and company policies. Candidates should have machinery experience or food handling background, be able to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and uphold high-quality standards.

Essential Functions
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding timing and production standards.
  • Operate Cooker and/or Extruder machines, including setup, adjustments, troubleshooting, and adhering to SOPs.
  • Maintain functions of augers, scales, slurry injectors, and manage venting and cook cycle times for proper product flow.
  • Utilize Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for recipe loading and machine operation, making adjustments as needed.
  • Keep accurate records and report discrepancies or concerns.
  • Handle paperwork and data collection accurately, maintaining ERP system records.
  • Monitor product quality and notify relevant personnel of issues.
  • Maintain a sanitary work environment in compliance with OSHA and company SOPs.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 3-6 months of related experience or training preferred.
  • Strong motivation, organization, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
  • Willingness to give and receive feedback and foster a positive team environment.
Working Conditions
  • Standing, walking, handling objects, and visual and auditory attention required regularly.
  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as needed.
  • Periodic lifting of up to 50-100 pounds with proper techniques.
  • Occasional operation of equipment and exposure to various environmental conditions and hazards.
What We Offer
  • Shift options: 1st (7am-3pm), 2nd (3pm-11pm), 3rd (11pm-7am).
  • Non-exempt position at $17/hour plus shift differentials: $1/hr for 2nd shift, $1.50/hr for 3rd shift.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with 6% match, paid time off, uniforms, safety shoes, tuition reimbursement, and free cereal.
