2nd Shift Maintenance Technician (5:00 p.m. - 3:30 a.m.)
Join Richelieu Foods as a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician and contribute to our team during the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
Responsibilities
- Observe mechanical devices in operation to identify issues.
- Fabricate, disassemble, and reassemble production equipment to access and replace defective parts.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Lubricate, clean, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Initiate purchase orders for parts and document work hours on applicable work orders.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair on processing, filling, and packaging equipment.
- Weld and perform sheet metal work using basic shop tools.
- Install, move, and relocate machinery based on blueprints and drawings.
- Read and interpret blueprints and manuals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting drive components like bearings, belts, sprockets, etc., and proper alignment.
- Experience inspecting and recommending replacements for mechanical parts.
- Ability to advise on spare parts, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and machine safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the food industry, GMPs, and SQF audits knowledge is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to interpret safety and operational documents.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Mathematical skills including basic algebra and geometry.
- Problem-solving skills with limited standardization.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, cold, wet conditions, and loud noise.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting up to 100+ pounds, and other manual tasks.
