The ideal candidate has a two-year degree in relevant technology or equivalent experience, HVAC certification, and the ability to read blueprints. Trainees may pursue EPA Certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

  • Two-year degree in Electrical Mechanical Technology or Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent.
  • OR two years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read electrical blueprints and machine drawings.
  • HVAC certification required.
  • EPA Level II Refrigerant Recovery Certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience with welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC systems preferred.
  • Valid Missouri driver's license and own basic mechanic tools.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and HVAC repairs on plant equipment.
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems, regulators, controls, and cylinders.
  • Read and interpret machine drawings, electrical schematics, and blueprints.
  • Install and repair electrical systems from routine to complex applications.
  • Perform welding and torch cutting as required for repairs and fabrication.
  • Install castable materials in hearths, furnace doors, fluid beds, and arches.
  • Thread, bend, solder, and fit gas pipe to close tolerances.
  • Assist with rigging and moving heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and work orders.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Complete required safety, hazardous material, forklift, and lockout/tagout training.
  • Handle hazardous waste materials and wastewater neutralization procedures as required.
  • Calibrate and certify temperature measuring devices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.

Position Summary

O'Fallon Casting is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team. This position is responsible for performing difficult mechanical, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on plant machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, experience working in an industrial environment, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and air-conditioning repairs on plant equipment and machinery
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including regulators, controls, and cylinders
  • Read and interpret machine drawings, electrical schematics, charts, and blueprints
  • Install and repair electrical systems ranging from routine to complex applications
  • Perform welding and torch cutting as required for repairs and fabrication
  • Install castable materials in hearths, furnace doors, fluid beds, and arches
  • Thread, bend, solder, and fit gas pipe to close tolerances
  • Assist with rigging and moving heavy equipment and machinery
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, labor records, and work orders
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
