Job summary

Bay Towel, Inc. seeks a dedicated Maintenance Technician to support production and facilities. You will perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting to keep equipment and processes running efficiently.

The role involves preventive and unscheduled maintenance, as well as pumps, valves and piping work. You will read manuals/schematics, perform basic carpentry and plumbing, welding and metal fabrication, and follow lockout/tagout procedures.

Qualifications

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair production equipment including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics and work requests.
  • Experience with PLC programs and frequency drives is a plus.
  • Basic carpentry and plumbing skills.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain production and facilities equipment; troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems as needed.
  • Monitor, replace and repair pumps, valves and pipe fittings to minimize downtime.
  • Perform unscheduled repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities.
  • Communicate equipment issues to operators and team leaders; document downtime and repairs.
  • Read manuals and schematics to perform maintenance tasks; follow lockout/tagout procedures.

Job description

Bay Towel, Inc. has an immediate opening for a dedicated team member to join the Bay Towel Family as a Maintenance Technician with a strong knowledge in fabrication.The responsibilities would include, but are not limited to the following:Maintain production and facilities equipment, performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic trouble shooting as neededMonitor, replace and repair process pumps, valves and pipe fittingsPerform unscheduled repairs and adjustments on production equipment to minimize down time and insure maximum efficienciesPerform regular scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment and facilitiesEffectively communicate with operators and team leaders regarding equipment problems and down time. Respond to department production equipment issues in a timely mannerRead and understand equipment manuals, basic schematics, and work requests to perform require maintenance and servicePerform various basic carpentry and plumbing tasksPerform metal fabrication and welding tasksUse a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, material handling equipment and lifts to perform dutiesFollow all equipment Lockout/Tag out proceduresMaintain a clean and organized work areaFollow all established safety rules and report any unsafe conditionsPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be on foot. This position is very active and requires standing (50%) and walking (50%) throughout the day.Push/pull 150+ poundsLift/carry up to 50 pounds regularlyCarry supplies across facilityWork in awkward spaces (ex. under machinery or climb ladders/stairs)Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time, non-exempt position working Monday-Thursday 2 p.m. - 10 p.m. OR Tuesday-Friday 1 p.m. - 9 p.m.Benefits:Base pay starts at $27/hour.
