Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH company, seeks a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician to ensure proper mechanical functioning of plant equipment and to troubleshoot electrical/electronic malfunctions. You will complete repairs and preventive maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will read blueprints and schematics, install wiring and conduit for new or repaired machines, calibrate equipment, and maintain tools and parts inventory while supporting safety standards and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Must have experience in industrial electrical and mechanical support.
  • Able to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Familiar with three phase 480-volt equipment and NEC basics.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements for electrical/mechanical work.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical equipment in the production area.
  • Make repairs and adjustments; dismantle machinery to repair or replace parts.
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for machines.
  • Prepare maintenance reports and maintain uptime.
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and schematics.
  • Diagnose and test malfunctioning machinery with other personnel.
  • Calibrate and adjust equipment per manufacturer specs.
  • Weld and fabricate as needed; perform preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain tools and parts stock; ensure shop and production area housekeeping.

Job Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring the proper mechanical functioning of plant equipment and machinery and to troubleshoot any electrical/electronic malfunctions, completing appropriate repairs and maintenance.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair all electrical and mechanical equipment in the production area
  • Make repairs and adjustments to machinery, dismantling all or parts of machinery to repair or replace defective components
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed or repaired machines and equipment
  • Prepare maintenance reports
  • Maintain production equipment in good operating condition while optimizing equipment uptime
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly schematic drawings
  • Diagnose and test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other facility personnel
  • Replace or repair faulty electrical and mechanical components of machine
  • Calibrate and adjust all electrical and mechanical equipment according to manufacturer's specifications
  • Improve reliability and operating efficiency of plant equipment
  • Maintain proper stock of tools and electrical parts to perform routine work
  • Weld and fabricate
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to Oldcastle standards
  • Housekeeping of maintenance shop and production areas
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma/equivalent or completion of technical school or equivalent in training, experience and education
  • At least 2 years of industrial experience in electrical or mechanical support functions
  • Must be knowledgeable of OSHA safety requirements, especially those related to electrical and mechanical operations and components
  • Able to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Full knowledge of three phase 480-volt equipment
  • Working knowledge of three phase motors, programmable controls, circuits, computer interfaces and National Electrical Code
  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 80 lbs.
  • Requires often climbing, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, standing, walking, reaching, and twisting
  • Ability to use tools and equipment to repair and provide maintenance while standing, crouching, stretching, extending extremities and under extreme work environments
