Job summary

Oldcastle APG in Kansas is seeking a maintenance technician responsible for ensuring proper operation of plant equipment and electrical/mechanical systems. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery to maximize uptime.

Requires reading blueprints, electrical schematics, and installation of conduit; experience with 480V three-phase equipment; physical ability and commitment to safety; competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or technical training (or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years in industrial electrical or mechanical support roles
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements, especially electrical/mechanical operations
  • Able to read electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Full knowledge of three-phase 480-volt equipment
  • Working knowledge of three-phase motors, programmable controls, circuits, and NEC
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Comfort working in an industrial maintenance environment

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair all electrical and mechanical equipment in the production area
  • Make repairs and adjustments to machinery, dismantling parts to repair or replace components
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for machines
  • Prepare maintenance reports
  • Maintain equipment uptime and reliability
  • Read blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • Diagnose and test malfunctioning machinery
  • Replace or repair faulty components
  • Calibrate equipment per manufacturer specifications
  • Improve reliability and efficiency
  • Maintain stock of tools and electrical parts
  • Weld and fabricate
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance
  • Housekeeping in maintenance shop and production areas
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring the proper mechanical functioning of plant equipment and machinery and to troubleshoot any electrical/electronic malfunctions, completing appropriate repairs and maintenance.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair all electrical and mechanical equipment in the production area
  • Make repairs and adjustments to machinery, dismantling all or parts of machinery to repair or replace defective components
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed or repaired machines and equipment
  • Prepare maintenance reports
  • Maintain production equipment in good operating condition while optimizing equipment uptime
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly schematic drawings
  • Diagnose and test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with other facility personnel
  • Replace or repair faulty electrical and mechanical components of machine
  • Calibrate and adjust all electrical and mechanical equipment according to manufacturer's specifications
  • Improve reliability and operating efficiency of plant equipment
  • Maintain proper stock of tools and electrical parts to perform routine work
  • Weld and fabricate
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to Oldcastle standards
  • Housekeeping of maintenance shop and production areas
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma/equivalent or completion of technical school or equivalent in training, experience and education
  • At least 2 years of industrial experience in electrical or mechanical support functions
  • Must be knowledgeable of OSHA safety requirements, especially those related to electrical and mechanical operations and components
  • Able to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Full knowledge of three phase 480-volt equipment
  • Working knowledge of three phase motors, programmable controls, circuits, computer interfaces and National Electrical Code
  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 80 lbs.
  • Requires often climbing, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, standing, walking, reaching, and twisting
  • Ability to use tools and equipment to repair and provide maintenance while standing, crouching, stretching, extending extremities and under extreme work environments
