Job summary

Lippert in Goshen, IN seeks a dedicated maintenance technician to keep production lines running. You will perform basic electrical, mechanical, and welding tasks, diagnose issues, and maintain hoists, doors, and related equipment.

A strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and teamwork is essential. The role is a full-time hourly position requiring manual dexterity, adherence to safety standards, and ability to work rotating shifts including Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to safely perform maintenance with basic hand and power tools.
  • Must troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical/electrical issues in a production setting.
  • Experience with hoists, welding equipment, and overhead doors is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair production equipment in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance to ensure reliability of tools and machinery.
  • Operate hoists, forklifts, and aerial lifts safely according to procedures.
  • Inspect and maintain welding and torch equipment; address faults promptly.
  • Follow safety policies and 5S housekeeping standards.
  • Read and interpret manuals and technical drawings to guide repairs.

Essential Functions


  1. Basic Tools –Able to safely perform maintenance tasks using basic hand tools and basic power tools

  2. Basic Mechanical – Able to safely and proficiently perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and rebuild tasks

  3. Basic Electrical – Able to safely and proficiently perform basic troubleshooting and movement of electrical circuits

  4. Hoists – Responsible for diagnosing/maintaining/installing production hoists in a timely fashion

  5. Welders - Responsible for diagnosing/maintaining/installing welding equipment in a timely fashion

  6. Camber Torches - Responsible for diagnosing/maintaining/installing propane and oxygen fueled torch equipment in a timely fashion

  7. Saws – Responsible for diagnosing/maintaining/installing production band saw equipment in a timely fashion

  8. Plasma Cutters – Responsible for diagnosing/maintaining/installing production plasma cutting equipment in a timely fashion

  9. Fork/Aerial Lifts – Able to safely and proficiently operate fork trucks and aerial lifts

  10. Doors – Responsible for powering down, raising, and securing overhead doors

Supervisory Responsibility

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active – while performing this job the team member is regularly standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. The team member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. In addition, the team member may be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet work while performing job duties. This position requires Personal Protective Equipment.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are based upon the need to support operations and production. Some Saturdays will be mandatory.


Travel

No travel will be required.


Required Education and Experience


  1. Must successfully complete LCI new hire safety training and refreshers

  2. Must be able to successfully pass the LCI, OSHA approved, forklift-training course

  3. Must successfully complete LCI Lock Out Tag Out Training

  4. Must successfully complete LCI Arc Flash/Electrical Hazard Training, as required

  5. Must successfully complete LCI Fall Hazard Training, as required

  6. Must successfully complete LCI Confined Space Training, as required

  7. Must successfully complete all LCI lean training, as required

  8. Must successfully complete LCI Tabware Technician Training


Preferred Education and Experience


  1. Basic Fabrication – Ability to weld or experience with basic metal fabrication

  2. Overhead Doors – Experience diagnosing/resolving issues with overhead doors

  3. Rigging – Experience rigging and moving equipment with a boom

  4. Multi Meter – Experience with a meter or other electrical test equipment

  5. Schematics – Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic prints

  6. Repair-Education/Experience with machine operation and repair

  7. Mechanicals – Experience with servicing HVAC or pneumatic compressors

  8. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
