Job summary

Liberty Diversified International is seeking a Maintenance Technician C to lead preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and optimize reliability at our Golden Valley, MN facility. You will mentor junior technicians and maintain accurate records.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing maintenance, strong mechanical/electrical skills, and ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. A technical degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a maintenance tech/mechanic in a manufacturing environment or completion of LDI Maintenance Training Program level III.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate preventive maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
• Implement solutions and perform repairs to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Conduct root cause analysis and develop strategies to prevent recurring equipment failures.
• Oversee installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on facilities and equipment, including minor HVAC, plumbing, wastewater management, and boiler maintenance.
• Mentor and train junior technicians, providing technical guidance and support.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, parts usage, and equipment history.
• Ensure communication regarding issues and repair status.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

The Maintenance Technician C will lead maintenance activities, performing complex maintenance tasks such as comprehensive troubleshooting of equipment issues, and ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of our manufacturing machinery. This will require a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude gained from a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems. This role requires exceptional problem‑solving skills and a proven track record of leadership in maintenance.

This full‑time position reports directly to the Manager Maintenance and is located at our Golden Valley, MN manufacturing facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate preventive maintenance programs for manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
• Implement solutions and perform repairs to minimize equipment downtime and maximize efficiency.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

• High School diploma or GED equivalent from accredited institution.
• 5+ years of experience as a maintenance tech/mechanic in a manufacturing environment and/or satisfactory completion of level III requirements from the LDI Maintenance Training Program.
• Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Understanding of basic HVAC and plumbing.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• Must be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills

• 2+ year technical degree in a maintenance‑related field.
• Experience within the corrugated industry.
• Experience with operational excellence or continuous improvement programs – Lean 6 Sigma, Kaizen events.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting pay rate for this position is $34.03 per hour (if applicable) plus hourly shift differential pay.
