Job summary

Sterling St James LLC in Tar Heel, NC is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the 2nd shift to lead maintenance mechanics and electricians in preventive maintenance, repairs, and reliability across plant systems. You will schedule work, train staff, ensure safety, and drive KPIs to minimize downtime while complying with USDA regulations.

A Bachelor's in Engineering and 2+ years' related experience are required; ammonia refrigeration and meat processing background are a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required with 2+ years of related experience.
Experience leading teams and training staff.
Food manufacturing/meat processing background a plus.
Ammonia refrigeration background preferred.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Lead Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in preventive maintenance and repairs.
Train employees on safety and methods; ensure quality workmanship.
Supervise maintenance systems, documentation, and scheduling processes.
Coordinate with Production to schedule repairs and downtime.
Develop and implement TPM, SOPs, and maintenance programs.
Monitor KPIs and provide status reports to management.
Ensure compliance with USDA regulations and records accuracy.
