Aerotek is hiring a 2nd Shift Maintenance Engineer in Columbus, OH. This contract-to-hire role focuses on maintaining bottling and blow mold equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and conducting changeovers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, work with PLC-controlled equipment, and collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure safe, reliable operations. Requires 2nd shift availability and overtime as needed.
The 2nd Shift Maintenance Engineer maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs production and facility equipment in a high-speed bottling and blow mold environment. This role focuses on both proactive and reactive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of manufacturing and conveyor equipment. The engineer performs changeovers, preventive maintenance, and equipment upgrades while adhering to strict safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

This role is based in a high-speed bottling plant that fills plastic bottles and cans, with responsibilities extending to a brand‑new blow mold facility located across a large parking lot. The position is on 2nd shift, running from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with occasional overtime to meet production needs. The facilities are food‑grade, climate controlled, very clean, and well‑maintained. In designated areas, employees must wear hair and beard nets, along with other required personal protective equipment. The engineer regularly works with manufacturing and conveyor equipment, including electrical systems up to 480V, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and PLC‑controlled systems. Movement between the two facilities requires walking outdoors in hot summer and cold winter conditions. The maintenance department is sizable and structured to provide coverage for vacations and varying workloads, offering a professional environment focused on safety, reliability, and continuous operation.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
