Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese in Abilene, TX is seeking a Maintenance Clerk to handle administrative tasks for the maintenance department and support parts procurement and inventory control.

You will order parts, track repairs, create work orders, enter new parts, and ensure accurate purchasing and filing, while upholding safety policies and GMP standards. Experience with SAP and MS Office preferred; a high school diploma or GED is required, with associate degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Order parts for equipment for production; ensure correct pricing as listed in the system.
• Source parts to ensure best price and quality.

• Create work orders for parts that are given to GLC employees outside of Maintenance.
• Set up new parts in system and label.
• Write purchase orders; clear the purchase orders as invoices are received.
• Log parts that are received and put them away.
• Take inventory of parts as necessary.
• File purchase orders and invoices.
• Work cooperatively with mechanics and all customers to resolve issues.
• All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
• All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Working Conditions

• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
• Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.
• Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
