Job summary

A.J. Rose is seeking a Machine Operator to set up, operate, monitor, and maintain metal stamping equipment to produce high-quality components in line with production requirements and safety standards.

You will perform machine setup, load raw materials, inspect parts with calipers and micrometers, document production data, and participate in preventive maintenance while following all safety policies and PPE requirements.

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing or metal stamping experience preferred.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machines and associated equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load raw materials and remove finished parts from equipment.
  • Perform machine setup and minor tooling changes as required.
  • Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and templates.
  • Monitor performance and identify equipment malfunctions or quality issues.
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintain safety policies and PPE compliance.
  • Keep work area clean and hazard-free.
  • Assist with tooling changes and setup as needed.
  • Communicate production concerns to supervisors and maintenance.

Job description

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining machines in a metal stamping facility to produce high-quality metal components according to production requirements and quality standards. This position ensures safe operation of machinery while meeting productivity and customer specifications.

Pay Range: $18.04-$23.70

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate machines and associated equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Load raw materials and remove finished parts from production equipment.
  • Perform machine setup, adjustments, and minor tooling changes as required.
  • Inspect parts throughout production using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and templates.
  • Monitor machine performance and identify equipment malfunctions or quality issues.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation accurately.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Assist with tooling changes and equipment setup as needed.
  • Communicate production concerns, equipment issues, and quality problems to supervisors and maintenance personnel.
  • Meet established production goals while maintaining quality standards.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Repetitive use of hands, wrists, and arms.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and twist throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, lubricants, and metal materials.
Working Conditions
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and gloves.
Training and Development
  • Comprehensive on-the-job training provided for machine operation, safety procedures, quality standards, and production processes.
  • Training on company-specific equipment, tooling, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Instruction in the proper use of measuring instruments, inspection techniques, and quality documentation.
  • Safety training including personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, hazard communication, and machine guarding requirements.
  • Ongoing development and refresher training to promote continuous improvement, quality, safety, and production efficiency.
