Job summary

Samson Rope, a world leader in cordage, seeks a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift to set up machines and materials, monitor operation, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs. Forklift skills may be used to supply materials. Adherence to safety and quality guidelines is essential.

2nd Shift Schedule: 2:45pm – 11:15pm. Overtime on weekends may be required. SAP and basic Windows skills appreciated. You will assist with PMs, repairs, and daily reporting.

Qualifications

• Basic reading comprehension, writing and arithmetic; ability to communicate effectively in English.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required or in prospects.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery following SOPs and safety rules.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment.
• Change-overs and lockout/tagout procedures on machinery.
• Maintain clean, organized work area following 5S.
• Monitor quality and report nonconforming product.
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
• Assist with process improvements and lean initiatives.
