2nd Shift Machine Operator - County Materials (Manufacturing)

We are seeking a 2nd shift Machine Operator to join our team. Military service members and veterans are encouraged to apply.

Job Duties:
  1. Operate cage wire rolling machines to roll wire mesh for reinforced concrete manholes and pipe manufacturing.
  2. Read and interpret production shop drawings with attention to detail.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of machines.
  4. Use math skills, including measuring with a tape measure.
  5. Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot wire machines.
  6. Understand manufacturing processes; learn tack welding and torch use.
  7. Learn to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
  8. Collaborate with the Plant Supervisor to ensure production schedules are met.
Work Environment:
  • Indoor and outdoor conditions, including extreme temperatures.
  • Near moving machinery and electrical hazards.
  • Confined spaces and noisy environments.
Physical Requirements:
  • Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, crouching, kneeling, bending.
  • Lifting and carrying 10-40 pounds.
  • Pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulder.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Willingness to learn and be trained.
  • Safety-conscious attitude.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with forklifts or mobile equipment is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in construction or building materials industry is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to perform occasional heavy lifting.
  • Mechanically inclined; able to stand throughout the shift.
