Job summary

Standex International is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift in Sugar Land, TX. You will participate in assembly, insulation, and material processing, using tablets for production documentation and setting up equipment.

You’ll follow Work Instructions and Bill of Materials, perform setup and inspections, and maintain tools and logs. The role requires basic math/readings, basic computer skills, and a safety-first mindset in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Company Safety, Quality, and Business policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Use a tablet to generate production documentation for the operation.
• Perform work per Work Instructions, BOM, and build specifications.
• Set up and properly operate equipment in their area.
• Complete setup and self and progressive inspections.
• Document required information on travelers, logs, and reports.
• Maintain tools and equipment, perform basic PM, and request service when needed.
• Meet required Quality and Productivity levels.
• Cross-train on multiple machines and switch machines as needed.

The Machine Operator may be involved in many aspects of the production process, including: assembly, insulating with taping/winding equipment, and processing of material for production use. The Level 1 Operator will use electronic and printed documentation to assemble products, as well as set up and operate various pieces of equipment used in the manufacturing process.

We are specifically seeking candidates who are available to work on the 2nd Shift.

Shift Hours: 6PM - 6AM Monday - Thursday

What You'll Do

• Adhere to all Company Safety, Quality, and Business policies/procedures, and maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
• Use a tablet computer to generate the production documentation required for the operation being performed.
• Perform work as per the Work Instructions, Bill of Material and build specifications used in their area of training.
• Setup and properly operate the equipment utilized in their area of training.
• Perform all required setup, self and progressive inspections in their areas of training.
• Properly document required information on travelers, logs, reports and Red Tags
• Maintain the tools and equipment used in your work area by using and storing properly, performing basic PM activities as required, and requesting service when necessary
• Perform the work in their areas of training to acceptable levels of Quality and Productivity.
• Be cross trained in multiple machinery and be able to switch machines on a as need basis.
• Other duties as assigned

What We Value

• Technical diploma, trade school certification, or coursework in manufacturing, mechanics, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience operating automated or semi-automated machinery
• Experience with preventive maintenance or troubleshooting of machinery
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, or SOPs
