Job summary

Maxcess-Valley Roller Company, Inc. seeks a grinder/roller operator for the 2nd shift in Wisconsin. The role involves reading schedules, locating rolls, preparing and trimming rubber, and setting grinding equipment to meet precise dimensions.

Qualifications

• Read, write, and understand English.
• Read mechanical blueprints and interpret technical documents.
• Write legible documentation conforming to prescribed style and format.
• Communicates effectively.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret production schedules, job router cards, blueprints, non-conformance reports, and other materials.
• Locate and retrieve rolls to the grinding area using overhead cranes and handling equipment.
• Prepare rolls for installation in grinding equipment, trimming rubber and cleaning surfaces.
• Set grinding equipment and adjust tooling and centers as required.
• Align rollers to meet dimensional requirements including taper, TIR, surface finish, and final dimensions.
• Measure dimensions and interpret their relationship to job specs.
• Use inspection equipment such as durometer gauges, micrometers, and dial indicators per procedure.
• Complete grinding operations and inspect finished products for conformance.
• Complete paperwork, inspections, and operator sign-off for each job.
• Unload, wrap, and transport finished products to storage or shipping areas.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and proper equipment maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
