Job summary

Kendall Howard in Minnesota is seeking a 2nd Shift Laser/Turret Technician Lead to oversee laser and turret operations, maintenance, and process improvements. You will mentor technicians, troubleshoot CNC equipment, and collaborate with engineering and production to keep downtime to a minimum and quality to a maximum.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with laser cutting and turret punching, plus leadership in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical or electrical fields.
• 5+ years of experience with laser cutting and turret punching machinery in a manufacturing setting.
• Troubleshooting and repairing CNC laser and turret punch equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a technical/manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily maintenance and repair activities for laser cutting and turret punching machines to ensure reliable operation.
• Supervise and mentor a team of technicians, providing training and technical support to enhance their skills and performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues affecting equipment functionality.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize machine settings and improve manufacturing processes.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs, service records, and report on equipment status and performance metrics.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
• Coordinate scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize production downtime.
