Job summary

nVent in the United States is seeking applicants for a painting associate in our production facility. You will prep, paint, and finish products to customer specifications and company standards, using a spray gun and related tools in a non-air-conditioned environment.

You will follow work instructions, perform surface prep, masking, curing, and keep the area clean. The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, teamwork, and daily recordkeeping of material transactions on a computer.

Qualifications

• Painting experience.
• Basic tape measure and blueprint reading skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to effectively prioritize work based on production schedules and changing needs.
• Able to record material transactions electronically (using a computer).
• Previous experience with manufacturing BOMs, material handling, inventory control and similar activities is preferred, but not required.
• Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with team members.
• Able to achieve forklift certification and safely operate a forklift.
• Able to manually lift items up to 40 lbs. and spend most of each shift standing and walking in a non-air-conditioned production environment.

Responsibilities

• Prep, paint, and finish product to customer specifications and company standards.
• Follow work instructions and reference paint/color guidelines.
• Wash, clean, dry, and position product in paint booth with ventilation functional.
• Mask areas to be left unpainted and correct surface imperfections.
• Apply paint using spray gun and ensure curing/drying times before final inspection.
• Perform daily cleaning and maintenance on painting equipment and keep work area clean.
