Job summary

Washington Mills is seeking a hands-on maintenance technician for the 2nd shift in Hennepin, IL. You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and installations on plant equipment, including conveyors, crushers, and heat exchangers. The role requires strong welding skills and safety focus.

The position offers hourly pay with a 2nd shift schedule (3PM-11PM, M-F) and overtime is available. Air-tight safety standards and teamwork are emphasized in daily operations."

Qualifications

• Experience in hands-on maintenance and repair of plant equipment.
• Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics.
• Proficiency in welding with multiple processes (Stick, TIG, MIG).
• Familiarity with conveyors, crushers, heat exchangers, belts and drives.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety standards are met and provide safety support when needed.
• Support ongoing communication within the department and plant organization.
• Perform repair, maintenance, overhaul and installation of plant equipment and machinery.
• Fabrication and maintenance of metal equipment including guards and ducts for heavy equipment.
