Job summary

Wolverine Packing Co. is seeking an Industrial Electrician to install, maintain, diagnose, and repair electrical systems across a fast-paced manufacturing facility in Detroit, MI. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills and experience with PLCs, VFDs, and three-phase systems.

You will read schematics, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure safety standards using LOTO procedures. The position is on site with a 2nd shift schedule and a focus on minimizing downtime and maintaining

Qualifications

• Technical school, electrical apprenticeship, or equivalent training preferred.
• 3+ years of industrial electrical experience preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing/food-processing environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and controls.
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience troubleshooting motors, PLCs, VFDs, and industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical safety practices and OSHA requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication with maintenance and production personnel.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment.
• Diagnose electrical problems using schematics, wiring diagrams, meters, and other test equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair motors, motor controls, starters, contactors, relays, sensors, and control circuits.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and automated production systems.
• Troubleshoot VFDs, servo systems, and other motor-control equipment.
• Install and maintain conduit, wiring, junction boxes, disconnects, panels, and electrical components.
• Perform preventative and predictive electrical maintenance on production equipment.
• Follow all OSHA, NFPA, and electrical safety requirements.
