Job summary

Homewood Retirement Centers seeks a dedicated housekeeping worker on the 2nd shift to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents. The role requires bending, lifting up to 40 pounds, and regular standing for eight-hour shifts, with availability every other weekend and holidays.

Primary duties include general cleaning, equipment operation, and assisting in moving furniture. The team emphasizes confidentiality, infection control, and collaboration with supervisors to uphold high cleanliness

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• High degree of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
• Ability to do repeated pushing and pulling of sweepers and housekeeping carts, and lifting or carrying a minimum of 40 pounds throughout an eight hour shift.
• Operates housekeeping and laundry machines, i.e., floor machines, wet vacs, washer, dryer, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provides a clean, orderly and safe living environment throughout the facility.
• Treats all information about residents as confidential.
• Performs general daily cleaning (dusting, mopping, sterilizing, disinfecting, sweeping, etc.) in assigned work areas.
• Keeps assigned areas furnished with supplies.
• Assists in moving resident’s furniture and personal belongings.
• Keeps furniture in an orderly and neat arrangement.
• Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor
