Job summary

UPMC Hamot is seeking an Environmental Services Associate to keep patient rooms, public areas, offices and equipment clean and safe. The role supports the hospital’s goal of a welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

The position is casual with 2nd shift hours and occasional weekend and rotating holiday coverage. Key responsibilities include making beds, inspecting areas for cleanliness, replenishing supplies, and following all safety and sanitation procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in order to successfully complete housekeeping duties.
• Ability to use housekeeping equipment.

Responsibilities

• Make beds in patient discharge rooms and on-call rooms as assigned.
• Inspect and ensure areas are clean and in good repair; report problems.
• Replenish paper towels, toilet paper and soap to ensure adequate supply.
• Clean all assigned areas following established procedures.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and report issues to supervisor.
• Remove trash from all assigned areas.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations.
• Move equipment, furniture, wash walls, and spot carpets as assigned.
