Job summary

Kriete Truck Centers in Kentucky is seeking a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain Class 6-8 trucks. You will work with OEM-certified training and a team-driven culture to keep customers on the road.

We offer a $6,000 sign-on bonus and up to $30/hour starting pay, plus a 401(k) with match, PTO and holidays, tuition reimbursement, and safety-related reimbursements. CDL is preferred but not required initially.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of hands-on mechanical experience or completion of/active enrollment in an accredited diesel program required.
• Basic tool set required – specialty tools provided.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL not required but preferred.
• Willingness to obtain a CDL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks.
• Perform maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, clutches, and electrical systems.
• Utilize OEM diagnostic software to ensure accurate assessments and repairs.
• Communicate findings and recommended repairs with Service Advisors.
• Maintain repair orders and documentation per standards.
• Road test vehicles to confirm proper repairs when required.
• Adhere to safety protocols and keep the shop organized.
