Job summary

TriMas Company LLC in Longview, TX is seeking a 2nd shift Heat Treat Operator to manage heat-treating operations for high-pressure cylinders. The role is on-site and hourly, with overtime as needed.

You will follow heat-treat procedures, monitor furnaces, perform quality checks, and support production goals while maintaining safety, housekeeping, and ISO-compliant work practices. This position offers hourly compensation and opportunities to contribute to a safety-conscious team.

Qualifications

• Must posses an education or experience level that permits the employee to effectively communicate and perform duties, assignments and responsibilities of the job.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret the documents relating to the job, function or assignment.
• Mathematical Skills: ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
• Reasoning Ability: ability to make decisions when identifying in-process problems.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE: To perform a variety of operational functions that constitutes the
production, inspection and distribution of products or services for our customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs assignments in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ability to operate a semi-automated furnace for heat-treating high-pressure cylinders.
2. Willing to work in a hot environment.
3. Ability to react quickly to correct problems with automated material handling equipment.
4. Willingness to work overtime when needed.
5. Ability to follow heat treat operating procedures and monitor that the furnace is operating.
6. Ability to identify cylinders and stamp heat lot codes on heat treated cylinders.
7. Ability to perform and relieve Furnace Load Operator, Furnace Operator and Furnace Off-load Operator.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested for successful completion of the mission of Norris Cylinder.
