Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a general labor team member to safely handle products and verify materials meet customer requirements and company expectations.

You will move and secure products, label and tag material, and participate in safety and continuous improvement programs; no heavy experience required beyond basic math and reliability. This on-site role is based in Michigan, offering opportunities to contribute to production efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
  • No minimum manufacturing experience required; lumber experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Moves and secures products and materials according to instructions.
  • Stacks finished products per predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
  • Labels material by type, size, and count.
  • Applies tags to material before/after treating/production.
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment.
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including corner protectors and loading sticks.
  • Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements.
  • Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports problems or discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Records production on production sheets.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts.
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
  • Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area
  • Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
  • Records production on production sheets
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Assists with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts
