Job summary

Macmillan Publishers' MPS division in Gordonsville, VA is hiring an REO (Forklift) Operator for the 2nd shift. The role supports back‑office, warehousing, and fulfillment operations for Macmillan U.S. and serves as the primary distribution center for North America.

You will operate forklifts and related equipment, unload and stage freight, use WMS and scanners, ensure accurate labeling and documentation, maintain safety, and help with cycle counting and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Basic PC skills and working knowledge of a WMS system.
• Mechanical proficiency to operate turret truck, forklift, and related equipment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights up to 35 feet wearing PPE.
• Able to read, comprehend instructions, and follow standard procedures.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as pacer, turret truck, order picker, walkie/rider, and pallet jack.
• Unload inbound freight and load outbound trucks.
• Place products in designated picking and shipping locations.
• Use WMS and scanners for picking, packing, and cycle counting.
• Maintain clean work area and follow safety procedures.
• Verify receipts, shipments, and load quantities; report discrepancies.
