Anchor Fabrication has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Forklift Operator in our Precision Forming department.

Position Summary

The Forklift Operator’s role is to move products, materials or equipment, meeting or exceeding customer specs and productivity requirements. They are highly motivated and have a desire to work in a fast paced, quality centered environment. This role is vital to ensuring our customers’ needs are consistently met, promoting our company’s continued strong national growth.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Internal Relationships: All Departments

External Relationships: Occasional and incidental contact with customers or prospective customers

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform daily operations and safety checks, including battery, seat belt, brakes, life control and fire extinguisher.
  • Identifies many types of raw material, in process or finished product, equipment, or processing materials.
  • Check identification of materials to be moved. Cross-references with production schedule or shipping schedule to ensure accuracy.
  • Proceeds safely to assigned area to pull load and move materials to correct work area.
  • Report’s inconsistencies or problems to supervisors
  • Other duties assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • 1+ years of Forklift experience in manufacturing.
  • Basic computer knowledge and understanding.
  • Clean driving record with no property damage accidents within the past three years
  • Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and mature enough to handle equipment safely and sensibly.
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have previous experience with Sheet Metal
  • Satisfactorily pass in-company forklift certification program

Environment/Physical Requirements With Or Without Accommodation

This position is carried out in a fabrication shop environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 100lbs.
  • Position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Position may require bending, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals.
