Job description

Job Title: 2nd shift Forklift operator
Location: Dublin, NC
Pay: From $14.50 per hour / DOE
Job Type: Full-time

Job Purpose:
The Forklift Driver is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The forklift driver is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform order filler and checker duties. This position plays a key role in the smooth and efficient operation of the warehouse.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Operate a forklift safely and efficiently, following all company procedures.
2. Load and unload trucks and trailers with goods, raw materials, and finished products.
3. Transport goods between loading docks, production areas, storage areas, and trucks.
4. Stack and organize pallets and containers properly, ensuring no damage to the product.
5. Perform daily inspections and maintenance checks on the forklift and other warehouse equipment.
6. Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
7. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized warehouse environment.
8. Accurately record materials moved in and out of the facility.
9. Assist with inventory control by performing cycle counts, ensuring accuracy in all transactions.
10. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, supervisors, and management about production needs and job priorities.
11. Report any product damage or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
12. Perform other warehouse duties as needed, including packaging, labeling, and light manual labor.

Skills and Competencies:

1. Ability to operate a forklift and other warehouse machinery.
2. Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and protocols.
3. Attention to detail and accuracy in all work processes.
4. Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and record-keeping.
5. Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
6. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or equivalent (required).
2. Forklift operator’s license and certification (required).
3. 1-2 years of forklift driving experience (preferred).
4. Familiarity with warehouse practices, including the storage and movement of materials.

Work Environment:

1. Warehouse setting where the employee will be exposed to physical hazards such as industrial equipment and forklifts.
2. Must be able to work in a production environment where standing for long periods and lifting heavy items is required.
3. Shifts may include evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.

Physical Demands:

1. Continuous standing and walking during shifts.
2. Frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.
3. Operating a forklift for extended periods requires full body coordination.
