Job summary

Thai Summit America Corporation in Howell, Michigan is hiring a 2nd shift Forklift Operator. The role entails operating a hi-lo forklift safely, loading and unloading parts, and keeping the production areas organized and clean.

You will participate in TPM/5-S activities and support ongoing quality improvements. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, and one year of manufacturing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of manufacturing experience preferred.
• General knowledge of quality systems.
• Able to identify sheet metal/aluminum defects.
• Basic knowledge using an ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a hi-lo forklift to transport materials throughout the facility.
• Load and unload parts to and from production lines.
• Stack and organize products and materials in designated storage areas.
• Inspect forklifts and equipment daily and report any issues or malfunctions.
• Follow company safety procedures and OSHA regulations at all times.
• Maintain housekeeping requirements to ensure a safe work environment.
• Inspect parts produced per process to ensure they meet high standards.
• Initiate quality improvements and assist in concern resolution.
• Program and fine adjust automation equipment.
• Build automation tooling.
• Troubleshoot automation and equipment.
• Participate in improvement activities using 5-S / TPM processes.

Forklift Operator - 2nd Shift
Primary Job Function:
Operation of the press line, racking of the parts produced, quality control, housekeeping and participation in TPM activities, forklift driving and metal rework of the parts. Setting dies on the bolsters may also be required: this requires a crane operating license. Accomplish any and all work assignments as directed Management.
Pay Range:

• Starting at $20 hourly
• Additional $1.00 premium for 2nd shift
• Additional $1.00 premium for 3rd shift

Shift Hours:

• 1st Shift: 6am-2:00pm
• 2nd Shift: 2pm-10:00pm
• 3rd Shift: 10pm-6:00am

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Health, Safety and Physical Demand Requirements:

• Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs
• Occasional lifting, climbing, carrying, pulling, griping, grasping, twisting, bending, stooping and reaching throughout the work day
• Hand and eye coordination
• Ability to tolerate standing for 8 hours or more.
