Job summary

Bakerly is seeking a Material Handler in Easton, PA to transport raw materials, packaging, and finished goods across the facility. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years forklift experience in manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or food production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks to transport materials throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload trailers with raw ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products.
  • Stage and deliver materials to manufacturing lines to maintain production flow.
  • Verify incoming/outgoing shipments for accuracy and document as required.
  • Apply batch numbers and lot codes to maintain product traceability.
  • Maintain inventory rotation using FIFO and proper storage locations.
  • Pick and load finished goods for customer shipments.
  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts and warehouse organization.
  • Follow OSHA, GMP, SQF, FDA, and company food safety requirements.
  • Report quality, inventory, food safety, and safety concerns to leadership.
  • Assist with palletizing and other warehouse tasks as needed.

Scope/Purpose of the Position

The purpose of this position is to transport raw materials, packaging, and finished goods safely and efficiently throughout the facility to support uninterrupted production and shipping operations.

This role is responsible for operating forklifts, reach trucks, and manual and powered pallet jacks to receive, store, stage, and deliver materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and product traceability. The Material Handler ensures compliance with food safety, GMP, SQF, and safety standards while partnering with Warehouse, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support daily operations.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining production flow by ensuring the right materials are available at the right time while upholding Bakery’s core values of honesty, reliability, collaboration, positivity, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, and manual and powered pallet jacks to transport raw materials, packaging, and finished goods throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload trailers containing raw ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products.
  • Stage and deliver ingredients, packaging, pallets, and production supplies to manufacturing lines while maintaining production flow.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and complete required documentation.
  • Apply and record batch numbers and lot codes to maintain product traceability.
  • Maintain proper inventory rotation using FIFO and ensure materials are stored in designated locations.
  • Pick and load finished goods from warehouse storage for customer shipments.
  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, inventory verification, and warehouse organization.
  • Follow OSHA, GMP, SQF, FDA, and company food safety requirements at all times.
  • Report all quality, inventory, food safety, and safety concerns promptly to leadership.
  • Assist with palletizing, warehouse organization, and other operational needs as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education:
  • High school diploma/GED required
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of forklift experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or food production environment required.
  • Experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, electric pallet jacks, and manual pallet jacks.
  • Experience loading/unloading trailers and moving palletized materials.
  • Experience working with inventory control and material movement preferred.
Skills
  • Strong forklift operating skills with a commitment to safe equipment operation.
  • Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills preferred.
  • Comfortable working in refrigerated environments for extended periods while wearing required PPE.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current and valid Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) forklift operation certification strongly preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand in place for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk, sit, bend, kneel, climb, and stoop for extended periods
  • Able to ascend and descend from stairs and or ladders
  • Lift/Carry/Move heavy objects-(up to 50 lbs.)

  • Ability to read/comprehend safety signage and warning signs
  • Ability to hear sounds for different recognition
  • Make quick precise adjustments (machinery)
  • Ability to use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble
  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet
  • Ability to wear and remove personal protective equipment required and defined by task,
  • Ability to work with chemicals
  • Ability to wear required good manufacturing process equipment (Clean provided uniform, hair restraints, beard covers, nitrile gloves, designated plant safety footwear
  • Ability to remove required good manufacturing process equipment upon exiting plant floor.
  • Perform appropriate hand sanitation requirements.
