Job summary

Aviagen in Alabama is seeking a Feed Mill Technician to operate processing equipment used in the production of poultry feed, including receiving, batching, grinding and pelleting.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, proficiency with Word and Excel, and a strong focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and teamwork. ISO sampling, FDA reporting, and bio-security are key aspects of daily tasks.

We are looking for candidates with technical expertise to join our team as a Feed Mill Technician. This Position will be responsible for operating all processing equipment used in the production of feed.

Job Description:

• Operate equipment, including receiving, batching, grinding, and pelleting
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation
• Complete FDA and production reports
• Maintain Bio-Security Protocol at all times
• Obtain daily inventories
• Maintain ISO sampling procedures
• Engage in preventative maintenance
• Engage in weekly Plant fumigation
• May perform other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor

Job Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of business English and arithmetic
• Computer literate, experience in keyboard operation, Microsoft Word and Excel
• Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees
• Ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency
• Ability to maintain records and to generate reports which require extreme accuracy
• Ability to operate a forklift
