Job summary

Perrigo is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to oversee and repair utility systems across three buildings. Responsibilities include troubleshooting HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related infrastructure, performing upgrades, and supporting water/housekeeping tasks.

This union role offers steady hours and a competitive pay range in New York state. Candidates should have 5+ years in maintenance or 3 years with Perrigo Set Up Tech plus related education, with PLC and CMMS/SAP experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalency.
• Able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Five+ years of maintenance experience across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc., or three years as Perrigo Set Up Tech plus related education.
• PLC background desirable.
• Experience with CMMS such as SAP.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Willingness to overtime including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot Perrigo facilities systems in compliance with codes and SOPs.
• Perform utility system rebuild/install, upgrades and preventative maintenance.
• Complete general work orders and coordinate with technicians across shifts.
• Handle special projects and other duties as assigned.

Description Overview

Responsible for the maintenance/troubleshooting/repair/install/upgrade to all of Perrigo’s utility systems across all 3 buildings (ex: HVAC, Boiler, Chillers, Electrical Panels, dust collectors, control panels, power wires, signal wires, pumps, HMI controls, heat trace, micromotions, pumps, water systems, water treatment system, PET/Glycol systems, sprinklers, doors, heat exchangers, plumbing systems etc). The job will also include giving water to manufacturing, and general housekeeping responsibilities (ex: roof cleaning, replacing batteries, replacing ceilings, bathroom clogs, painting, wall patching, general carpentry etc).

This is a Union Position - Pay Range: $28.00

Scope of the Role

1. Responsible for operations and troubleshooting of Perrigo’s facilities systems in compliance with applicable codes, all state requirements and Perrigo SOPs. 30%

2. Performs utility systems rebuilding/install, upgrade and preventative maintenance. 30% 3. Completes general work orders and interfaces with other technicians across all shifts in a team environment. 30%

4. Performs special projects and other related duties specific to the department as assigned. 10%

Experience Required

• High school diploma, General Education Development (GED) or equivalency.
• Demonstrated cooperative work conduct and the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Strong oral and written communication skills required.
• Five plus years of solid work experience in a variety of maintenance skills including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc. Or Three (3) years as a Perrigo Set Up Tech plus at least two years of completed education in a related program from an accredited university/college.
• Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) background desirable.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Suite and experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP are required with the ability to navigate through computer-based training systems desirable.
• Ability to read and work from Blueprints
• Demonstrated commitment to meeting schedules and deadlines through good attendance and willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays are also necessary.

Physical Requirements:

• Works from ladders, man lifts, and requires ability to continuously lift 20 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. frequently.
• Must be able to stand on concrete floors for 8 hours up to 12 hours.
• Must be able to push or pull up to 400 pounds utilizing a manual cart.
• Must be able to stoop, squat, and bend.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces and in high areas using proper procedures with ability to have sustained reach laterally and above shoulder height.
• Must be able to frequently grasp objects, small hand tools, calipers, etc.
• Must possess sufficient visual and audio acuity to work safely and accurately in an industrial environment.
• Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment to comply with hazardous procedures.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and required overtime through extended shifts and weekends.
• Employees must pass scissor lift driving and fork truck driving test provided by Perrigo.
• Employees must pass confined space training, fall arrest training provided by Perrigo. **Protective Equipment Requirement**
• Must be able to wear negative and/or positive pressure respirators daily for long periods of time. Must be medically cleared to wear respirators without restrictions.
• Must be able to comply with locally required worker safety, environmental and health practices.
• Required to follow and comply with Departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Safety/Housekeeping guidelines.
• Required to comply with hazardous procedures and be able to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets.
