Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Eyelet Toolmaker for our Waterbury, CT manufacturing site. This role builds, maintains, and repairs precision tooling used to produce consumer battery components, with a focus on dies, molds, fixtures, and gauges.

The 2nd shift plays a critical role in minimizing downtime and addressing urgent tooling needs. You will read blueprints, GD&T, and CAD models; perform precision machining on mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM; and collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality

Qualifications

• Journeyman Toolmaker certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of experience as a Toolmaker in a manufacturing environment, preferably high volume or precision components.
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and specifications (GD&T).
• Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift on a consistent basis.

Responsibilities

• Build, modify, repair, and maintain production tooling, including progressive/transfer dies, injection molds, stamping tooling, fixtures, jigs, and gauges.
• Diagnose and resolve tooling-related issues that affect quality, yield, or uptime.
• Perform precision machining using manual mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and CAD models.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to support production goals.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tooling to extend tool life and reduce downtime.
